Slab Leak Detection in Phoenix

A warm spot on the tile, a water heater that never shuts off, a bill that climbed for no reason. We find the line under the slab and mark the floor, without breaking it open to look.

Under the slab, not under guesswork.

Slab leaks in Phoenix homes are usually a hot line that failed. The signs are subtle until the floor is. We test before anyone brings in a jackhammer.

  • Warm spot on the floor
  • Water heater running constantly
  • Sound of water with everything off
  • Cracked or lifting tile
  • Damp carpet or baseboards
  • Mold smell with no visible water
  • Low pressure at fixtures
  • Water bill that jumped

How it works

How we find a slab leak

Every line under the house is tested on its own before the floor is marked.

  1. Confirm at the meter

    Confirm at the meter

Everything off, meter moving: there is a leak. Hot side or cold side narrows it from there.

  2. Isolate each line

    Isolate each line

Hot and cold runs are pressure tested separately so we know which one failed before listening.

  3. Listen and image

    Listen and image

Electronic listening pinpoints the break through the slab. Thermal imaging confirms a hot line.

  4. Mark it and write it up

An X on the floor, the depth, and whether a reroute beats opening the slab. In writing, with photos.

Slab leak detection questions, answered.

Straight answers from the Aqua Doctor team. If you don't see your question, give us a call.

No. Listening and thermal imaging locate the leak through the slab. The floor is opened once, at the mark, for the repair, or not at all if the line is rerouted overhead.

It depends on where the break is and the age of the plumbing. One break in a newer line is usually opened and repaired. An older line with its first pinhole often gets rerouted so you are not back in six months. The findings spell out both.

A hot water line under the slab is leaking and heating the concrete above it. It is the most common slab leak in the Valley, and the water heater running nonstop is the other tell.

Two to three hours for most homes. Larger homes with several manifolds take longer.

Yes. Every detection comes with written findings and photos showing where the leak is and what failed the test. Builders, warranty companies and adjusters get what they need.

Detection is a flat fee, quoted before we come out, based on what is being tested. Repairs are priced separately once the leak is found, and nothing starts without your approval.
